Here, the pro-Russian ‘Georgian Dream’ party retained its majority with 54% of the vote. The election result was contested by the opposition and protests were called for. A partial recount of the votes confirmed the result. However, international voices are also calling for a full investigation. Georgia currently occupies the top 7 country allocation in the Vision Microfinance Fund. Our invested institutions have not been affected by the election so far and we will continue to monitor the situation closely.
