I-AM Vision Microfinance - Social Impact Investing

The fund management of the I-AM Vision Microfinance Funds is committed to social impact. This also includes evaluating the social commitment of the supported institutions on site. This is why the fund management team regularly undertakes due diligence trips to see the work of the institutions for themselves. At the beginning of December, Birgit Havlik, fund manager at Impact Asset Management (I-AM), visited various regions of Mexico for this purpose and spoke to the management of the institutions about the current situation in the country, current challenges and future goals.

The I-AM Vision Microfinance Funds are invested in five different institutions in Mexico, which are spread across a wide range of customer segments and regions. The first institution visited, Avanza Sólido, serves the regions in the south-east of the country from Veracruz to Chiapas and Yucatán and focuses on bottom-of-the-pyramid entrepreneurs. ProCredito, Podemos Progresar and Laudex were visited during the stay in Mexico City. These institutions cover small and medium-sized enterprises as well as group loans to female borrowers and student funding.
